🐾 Taco's Tiny Paws, Big Heart

Join me as my tiny paws embark on a big journey 🐾

Hi friends,

My name is Taco, and this July, I'll be taking part in PAWS for Sick Kids to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House in Randwick.

At first glance, I'm just a tiny Yorkshire Terrier. I weigh less than most handbags, fit comfortably in a lap, and have a particular talent for collecting toys and stealing hearts.

But my journey hasn't been as small as I am.

Since joining my family, I've undergone two surgeries and spent much of my puppyhood recovering. There were days when every step felt uncertain, but with love, patience and determination, I kept moving forward. One tiny paw at a time.

My mum understands that feeling. A few years ago, a serious illness left her unable to walk, and she had to learn again what it meant to take those first difficult steps. Perhaps that's why we've always understood each other so well.

Together, we've learned that resilience isn't measured by size. It's measured by courage.

That's why this challenge means so much to me.

This July, my tiny paws won't be walking just for my own recovery story. They'll be walking for children and families facing battles far greater than mine.

Every day, families with seriously ill and injured children find themselves navigating fear, uncertainty and challenges no family should have to face alone. The Ronald McDonald House provides them with something priceless: the chance to stay together when they need each other most.

While I can't change what those families are going through, I can walk for them.

I can walk to help keep parents close to their children.

I can walk to help provide comfort during difficult days.

I can walk to remind families that an entire community stands beside them.

I may have tiny paws, but this cause has a very big place in my heart.
