About the Event
What is Paws for Sick Kids?
Paws for Sick kids is a campaign asking all pets (and their hoomans) to get together, do a few challenges (easy, hard or your own) and raise funds for seriously ill children.
Funds raised will go to support Ronald McDonald House Charities Sydney to keep families close while their child is being treated in hospital.
What are the challenges?
There are two challenges to choose from.
We have The Pet Personality challenge or you can Choose Your Own challenge
To learn more about these and see examples click here
When is Paws for Sick Kids?
Wilbur will be doing his challenge from 19 July - 25 July 2021 and he would love for you to join him. However, you can do your challenge whenever suits you pets schedule (oh and of course, yours) during the month of July.

Can I do my own challenge?
Of course you can, just select the ‘Own Challenge’ when you hit Sign Up and make up your own challenge. The options are endless, you can challenge yourself to do 5kms of walking a day, learn a new skill or if you have a pet and would like to do your own challenge with them this could be anything from teaching your bird to sing to Lady Gaga or your dog to woof along to ‘Who let the dogs out! (Wilbur’s favourite song).
Can I start my challenge whenever I want?
You and your hooman can start and end your challenge anytime during July. Just make sure you tag as at #pawsforsickkids or @rmhc_sydney on Instagram throughout the challenge. Wilbur will be doing his challenge between 19 - 25 July and there will be great prizes to win during the week!
I don't have a pet, can I still take part?
Wilbur would love for you to take part, you can either select own challenge and as a hooman you can do your own challenge or you can support Wilbur's Challenge by visiting his page directly.
What if my pet can't do all the challenges?
No problems at all, just do the best you can with the challenges. Wilbur wants you and your hooman to have fun and make our sick kids smile, after all laughter is the best medicine.
Where do I log my pet's challenges?
You can show the world your pets personality in the following ways:
- Your pet blog! If you haven’t checked it out, you can find it on your fundraising dashboard under ‘My Page’. You can post photos, Tik Tok and YouTube videos or just write something about your challenge to your supporters.
- Post your challenges on your social media! I know it can seem daunting, but so many of your supporters want to see your challenges like the selfie challenge. By posting it on your social media using #pawsforsickkids, you can be featured on our ‘Inspiration Wall’ as well as connecting to other pets in the community.
How can I use social media to promote my challenge?
Easy, just use the hashtag #pawsforsickids on Facebook, Instagram or Tik Tok and you can be featured on our Inspiration Wall.
Taking part as a team
Can I start a team with my pet friends, family or colleagues?
Wilbur ruffs this idea! Having a team join Paws for Sick Kids is a fun way for pets (and their hoomans) to get together and support sick kids, you could even do the challenges together. It’s easy when you register, select create or join team. Think of a fun team name and start recruiting your pet friends and raise funds to support sick kids.
How do I create a team?
It’s simple. Just click the Sign Up button and you will be asked if you’d like to create or join a team when you get to the ‘Create Your Page’ step. Still having trouble? Just shoot us an email at supporting.sydney@rmhc.org.au and we will help you complete the set up.
How do I invite people to my team?
More pets taking part together, the better! Creating a team to join Paws for Sick Kids is a pawtastic way to stay connected with other pets and their hoomans. After you create a team you can send pre-written email invites from your fundraising dashboard. Or simply share your team link, there’s a ‘Join Us’ button on the page.
Can anyone join my team?
Wilbur says yes, invite your other pet friends and ask them to invite their friends (and hoomans). It’s about having fun and supporting seriously ill children and making them smile. You will have the option to allow anyone to join your team, or you can set to private so only those you invite can join.
Can we do the challenge together?
Of course, with responsible social distancing of hoomans, all pets can do their challenge together.
